Mark Worsman, Chief

Chief Worsman is a life-long resident of New Hartford. He started as a Cadet in the department in 1987. He has been Chief since 2003.

He has his B.S. in Occupational Safety from Keen State College.

He works for Allstate Insurance as a Senior Theft & Fire Consultant.

He is an instructor at the Burrville State Fire School.

He is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the National Fire Protection Association.

During his tenure as Chief he has worked to update regulations and standards, expanded departmental training and incorporated the National Incident Management System into the department's call activities.

His wife and two sons are active in the community and he helps coach Little League.

John Wabrek, Deputy Chief

Chief Wabrek grew up in New Hartford. He started with  New Hartford Fire  in 1996 as a cadet. He graduated from Oliver Wolcott Technical High School in 1999,  and went on to college at Rensellaer Polytechnic Institute where he studied Electric Power Engineering.  He graduated with an engineering degree in 2003.  He works full time at Eversource energy as a Project Test Technician working in Transmission substations.  He is married to Stacy (Erho) Wabrek, no kids yet other than their  yellow lab Linus.  He enjoys playing sports, working around the house, and of course the Fire Department .


Robert Goodskey, Captain

Captain Goodskey is a life-long resident of New Hartford. He has devoted 39-years in the fire service. Twenty-four of those years have been as a career firefighter in West Hartford Connecticut. He served as Chief on the New Hartford Volunteer Fire Department from 1986 to 1988. For 15-years he volunteered with the New Hartford Volunteer Ambulance Association. He is currently a member of the New Hartford Village Fire District.

He is the Captain at Station 1(Downtown New Hartford). He oversees departmental training along with Captain Marcus.

He is a Lead Instructor at the Burrville State Fire School.

His wife and two daughters devote time to fostering dogs from Double Dog Rescue.

Benjamin Marcus, Captain

Captain Marcus is a life-long member of New Hartford. He started as a Cadet in the department in 2005. He is the Captain of Station 2 located on Arrowhead Drive. He oversees departmental training along with Captain Goodskey.

He is a graduate of Northwest Regional 7 High School and works full-time as a dispatcher/alternate supervisor at Litchfield County Dispatch (911).

Kevin Archer, Lieutenant

Lieutenant Archer has spent 11-years in the fire service starting as a Cadet in the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department. He has been with NHVFD for 3-years with two of those years as Lieutenant. Originally from Barkhamsted, he has lived in New Hartford since 2006.

He is an Instructor in the department.

He graduated from Northwest Regional 7 High School.

Jason Kruczek, Lieutenant

Lieutenant Krucek is a life-long New Hartford resident. He has been in the fire service for 11-years with 7-of those years with the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department. He is completing his first years as Lieutenant in New Hartford.

He is volunteered as a Emergency Response Technician (EMR) on Winsted Volunteer Ambulance. He has since been certified as an Emergency Response Technician (EMT).

He earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in finance from Central Connecticut State University. He works as a financial analyst.
